Why it’s better for you?

Eliminates the unpleasant impression process

The digital scanner captures a full-mouth image in seconds—no biting down on impression material for several minutes, no numbness, and no jaw ache.

No follow-up appointment necessary

We create and place your permanent dental restoration in one visit, letting you get on with life—eliminating the need for an uncomfortable, inconvenient temporary crown.

A long-term solution

Proven in dental practices millions of times over to offer lasting results, it’s trusted technology developed by Dentsply Sirona, the world leader in dental solutions.

Looks and acts like a real tooth

Unlike many conventional crowns that use a metal base (which limits translucency) and can have a dark edge, a CEREC crown looks and feels like your natural tooth. And it most closely matches the hardness of a real tooth, helping prevent wear and tear.

Preserves more of your natural tooth

Only decayed or damaged tooth surface is removed, preserving as much of the healthy tooth as possible.

How it works?

  • We capture an image of your tooth with a digital scanner.
  • A 3D model of your teeth and the new restoration is created on the computer.
  • The restoration is then fabricated from a ceramic block on our milling machine, right in our office.
  • The dentist places the custom-fit restoration a short time later, during the same visit

Your Cerec Journey

STEP 1

Book your Cerec Smile Consultation 🙂

Book in with David in Visage St Albans to discuss if cerec crowns/bridges are suitable for you!. Costings and a timeframe will be given at this point.  If it can be booked without a clinical examination and the consultation is sufficient  you can go straight to booking in for your cerec.

STEP 2

If required receive your Clinical examination 🙂

If  a clinical exam/clinical photographs or any X-rays are required this will be carried out. The appointment will take up to 45 mins. Once completed the cerec appointment can be booked

STEP 3

Attend your cerec appointment 🙂
  • Tooth Preparation
The tooth is anaesthetised if required.  The tooth is filed and shaped so it is ready to receive the Cerec dental crown. Once it is prepared we will then take the digital dental impressions of your smile. These impressions are sent to our computer where our David will be able to design your new dental crown.
  • Cerec Crown Fabrication
Once the design is ready, David will send it to the milling machine From there, your tooth will be fabricated from a block of ceramic that best matches the color of your natural enamel. Whilst this happening you can take a seat in the waiting room and relax.
  • Dental Crown Placement
When the milling machine is done carving out your new crown, David will fit it over your tooth to ensure it’s the proper size, shape, and color. That way, your new cerec will look natural and blend in with the rest of your smile. Once the David is satisfied with how the crown fits and looks, then he will  cement it onto your tooth. David will  check your bite and make any necessary final adjustments to ensure a comfortable fit.
  • After care
After the appointment  it is important that you continue to practice good oral hygiene at home. This means brushing your teeth twice a day for two minutes at a time. We also recommend flossing once daily to remove any plaque or food particles caught between teeth.
Part of looking after your new cerec crown involves regular check-ups/dental hygiene to ensure your preventative care programme is working for you.
