Rejuvenate your skin!
Facial Aesthetics

As we get older, our skin starts to show signs of ageing. It’s an inevitable part of life and can lead to us feel less confident.  Winkles develop as skin cells divide more slowly, and the middle layer of the skin, called the dermis, begins to thin. The dermis is composed of a network of elastin and collagen fibres, which offer support and elasticity and over time this causes the depressions in the skin.

Our qualified clinicians have a range of facial aesthetic treatments that can help combat these wrinkles. Whether you wish to smooth away noticeable lines that appear when you laugh, frown or smile.

We also have options available for those that suffer from migraines and jaw pain.

Injectables for clenching & Grinding

We offer injectables into the master muscle near the TMJ (temporo mandibular joint) to prevent you from clenching and grinding your teeth. The injectables weaken the muscle enough to stop the habitual grindinghabit bringing relief to the TMJs and significantly relaxes the muscle relieving symptoms such as headaches, migraines, and tooth wear.

Gummy smiles

Reducing the ‘gumminess’ of smiles can be done in two different ways. One would be through the use of antiwrinkle relaxant injections. The muscles relaxant is injected into area between the upper lip and the nose and reduces the movement of muscle.

The otherway to reduce the visibility of your gums when you smile would be through crown lengthening surgery. See Crown Lengthening

When do you see results?

While results can vary depending on how your skin reacts to the treatment, there is a high percentage of regular Obagi users that claim that the Obagi transformation systems have significantly improved the way their skin looks. However, if you don’t see an improvement after 12 weeks of regular use, it is recommended that you seek further consultation from your skincare professional.

There are testimonials from Obagi users from as early as 2 weeks of use which state that they can see improvements in their skin. Such improvements followed the use of the Obagi Nu-Derm System which was referenced as fading melasma and “tough spots”.

Is there any downtime?

Your skin may become redder than usual, or you may experience dryness and flaking, itchiness or greater sensitivity than you do normally. If you are treating acne, this may appear to get worse.

This type of reaction will occur within the first 6 weeks of using Obagi. This is the time when the top layer of your skin is being removed. Profhilo

What is Profhilo and how does it work?

Profhilo is a dermal filler treatment that works by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. This increase in new collagen and elastin production makes the skin more elastic and firmer, and also helps to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. The filler is made from hyaluronic acid.

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance produced in our body, found in skin, joints and other connective tissue. Its role is to aid collagen production and retain moisture in the body. It can hold 1000 times its weight in water which makes it ideal for binding moisture in the skin. Hyaluronic acid production slows as we get older making the skin appear duller and dehydrated, and fine lines and wrinkles begin to from.

Profhilo contains one of the highest concentrations of stabilised hyaluronic acid. It acts as a hydrator not as a filler because it is thermally bonded and not chemically bonded. It is injected just underneath the surface of the skin where it disperses quickly and reacts with your own tissue to instantly boost hydration. During Phase two it then starts to boost elastin and collagen production. This effectively remodels the skin and giving it a plumper, smoother and firmer appearance. Profhilo has a smooth consistency like gel which ensures the smooth appearance and even distribution. This means it’s an excellent choice for more difficult areas to treat like the neck and forehead.

What areas can you treat?

Face
Neck
Decollete
Arms
Hands
Knees

How long does it last?

Profhilo generally lasts 6 months if 2 treatments are given one month apart. After the initial treatments, we recommend coming back to see us every 6-9 months.

How long does the procedure take?

The full treatment consists of two sessions, one month apart. A further session may be recommended after approximately six months to prolong the effect.

When do you see results?

Profhilocan be used on its own or in conjunction with other fillers, laser treatmentsor Botox as a complementary, rather than a competitive treatment.

In most cases, patients notice a visible improvement in their skin's texture and tone after just one treatment. However, you can expect to see the full results 4-6 weeks after treatment.

Does it hurt?

Profhilo is injected just under the skin using very fine needles in pre-determined points. It is relativley painless and there is usually no need for topical pain relief creams prior to treatment. The treatment itself is very quick, taking only about 10 minutes.

Is there any downtime?

There is no downtime. After treatment you should avoid wearing make-up, and strenuous physical activity a should be avoided for 24 hours It is also best to avoid saunas and steam rooms for a few days after treatment.

What are the risks & side effects?

There are no long-term side effects. Profhilo is metabolised by the body completely. Some people may experience redness, slight bruising, tenderness as well as itching at the injection sites but these were temporary and should resolve within a few hours to a day.
